Stick with Paypal for this sort of thing, a bit more robust (as long as Paypal doesn't get hacked  ).- - - - - - - - - -

+1 for paypal0

Have been using CRC for about 3 or 4 years now. Never had any problems with them and returns have been swiftly processed.
For the majority of things they are the cheapest available.
Admittedley I have only used Paypal.
I couldn't be arsed to read the whole story but I suspect there was something that was clickable, and people didn't read the T&Cs and that is why they have been charged.
I could be wrong.
EDIT - and probably am - this stinks of an "insider" who has been stealing card numbers.
I trust CRC will have investigated and sacked the thief. There appears to be no evidence that anything has been "hacked". Therefore the finger points at an employee who has direct access to all card details.
From my experience one of the best online retailers out there. My only criticsm would be that they are not that quick at responding to queries about products.0 -
Ah that explains a lot - I had 2 charges for O2 Prepay appeared on my old card - I contacted my bank and they cancelled my Debit card and refunded the cash.0

I take everything I had said back - I am assuming this has happened because of the thief that was working for them.
I haven't been with 02 for over 3 years but have just recieved a bill from them for £26 and they are threatening to cut my service off!!
Hmm very odd.
Am now extremely pissed off as my details have quite clearly been comprimised,
I only paid via Paypal with CRC - but this is a joke.
Whoever owns and runs CRC - I hope you find and report the fraudster who has been working for you.
I won't be buying anything off you for the forseeable future.
Shame because I think you are a great company. But you have some dishonest piece of scum that has ruined your reputation.
I hope full charges are pressed and he gets sent down.0 -

Just received £607 back from PayPal that was fraudulently taken by "Wall Clitsky" from my bank via PayPal. Took less than 24hrs for PayPal to reverse the transaction after I disputed it.
So +1 for PayPal from me also0 -
SheffSimon keep an eye on your account as PayPal may have refunded pending investigation and could debit you again.
As previously stated this is an old story which seems to have restarted therefore have CRC done anything to prevent it via their systems or by sacking staff.
It appears not.
After it happened to me - and it could easily have led to a loss if my Bank hadn't rang me to confirm the entries - I have been very wary of using them despite the good prices.
Once bitten twice shy?0 -
Paypal has rip off fees. I try and avoid them.
You don't need Paypal. If a transaction appears on your bank or credit card accounts that is fraudulent or without your consent then the bank, VISA, Mastercard have to refund you as it is UNAUTHORISED. Period.
As for CRC to their credit I think they tried to sort this out some time ago. I used to shop with them quite a bit but had a few so-so transactions then decided to buy elsewhere where prices are lower and better customer service. CRC prices can be quite exponseef on certain stuff. Maybe CRC have got too big and take for granted some of their established customers? They take ages to reply to product or despatch enquiries as well.Life is like a roll of toilet paper; long and useful, but always ends at the wrong moment. Anon.
Think how stupid the average person is.......
half of them are even more stupid than you first thought.0 -

I have never had any problems whatsoever with CRC.
It is completely random that I actually read this post. But then getting a bill off a service provider I haven't been with for over 3 years makes me wonder.
It may just be a complete coincidence - but this is the sort of shit that makes you paranoid - well it does me!!0
