Anyone thought to do this? Thinking of getting the cheapest Hybrid and splashing out on Di2 as part of my C2W evil plan.

Won't the Di2 group cost more than the usual voucher top limit?

    - Yes. Although I dont know by how much yet... I was thinking of converting to 9 speed and save on the front derailler - if its possible ...

I talked to someone at Evans who my company use exclusively and he said that they would do customizations. I mentioned the Di2 plan. I'll go in and get a second opinion jic

Di2 is 10-speed only. I don't know if you can run a mix - it would be pretty ugly. If I were going to select a derailleur to be electronic, I would go for the front mech anyway as it's the most troublesome in terms of shift smoothness. A bowden cable rear mech can be made to shift pretty slickly.

Thanks for that. Your right. I hope I can piece meal it. Evans catalogue the deraillers and shifters/cabling serperately...was hoping to find someone who had done something similar but maybe it is a bit .. umm. .. mad? ....
Just phone Evans. Cant get any electric stuff on the C2W scheme :(

Why would you want Di2 anyway? Unless you are a pro, it seems like overkill and the solution to a problem which doesn't really exist anyway.

If its just for bling, I can understand, but if it was for a performance advantage, it seems a bit silly. Expensive and silly.

All this. Like pairing an amzing set of speakers with a £50 CD player from Argos.

However, it's your money, spend it how you like !

I think the point is that you buy a cheapy, cheap bike with Di2 on bike 2 work, then strip the Di2 off the cheap frame, and put it on your good bike and then dump the cheap frame. It's essentially a way of evading the rules on simply buying upgrade parts on bike 2 work, as yoiu have to buy a whole bike rather than simply a groupset or whatever.... I've heard people bring this up before but never actually come across anyone who has actually managed to put it into practice...

There are some stores who let you use the C2W vouchers on anything.

Halfords (not in my town though) have been known to let people use the voucher on a load of car parts for example!

Our work scheme allows us to buy bike + accessories, clothing, helmets, chains, etc
