which wheels are better?

i know the superstars are a custom build but what are the dt swiss like? i ride mostly xc with a bit of DH thrown in sometimes, i'm 14 stone so they need to be pretty tough aswell :D

    i would have a look at the hope pro 2 evo hoops :)

    even them on a flow rim will be lighter then the DT swiss rim, a little more expensive though

    yeah, i'm short of cash and i need to stay as cheap as possible..as close to £200 as possible :D

    If you go for the superstar am rim and sapim race spokes, it should be 200g ish lighter than the dt swiss and plenty strong enough.

    Here, for £229, you can get a set on flow rims which should be lighter still and stronger

    The DT set are wrong for what you describe. But on the other hand, there's a reasonable chance the Superstar set will have been built by a monkey, their build quality's all over the place- some are spot on, some are, well, not.
    Uncompromising extremist
