singlespeed problem

Hi There,
I've just built up a SS boardman for a friend - looks great - Took it for a test ride tonight & the chain slips whenever I put the power down - any ideas why this may be?
It's a raceface xc singlespeed crankset - with superstar sprocket & tensioner on the back.
Is the chain too tight/loose? - feels ok. Alignment problem? everything runs smoothly when the bike is in the stand. Chain & chainring compatibility issue?
Help!

diddyfunk - thanks for your reply - but I don't think it's the same issue - my spacers are flat & uniform.
nicklouse - It sounds like a tension issue - do I make the chain as short as I possibly can? - so the tensioner at the back is drawn in right towards the frame? will try to take some photos tomorrow.Kinesis xc 130:
