    Go for it.

Just like when football fans wear their teams strip, or rugby fans, etc...

There used to be a very long thread about this in the Cake Stop. The concensus was 'wear what the hell you like'

If you care about whether you're considered cool by your cycling peers then no it's not considered cool. But as I said on that long thread, we're riding around in lycra. None of us actually look cool. So go for it.

I happily wear my Euskatel top out and about in the peak disctrict. Whether I look like an idiot is another matter

Even if you do look an idiot, traffic can spot you're an idiot from a mile away (which is why I often wear one)

team jerseys are fine i think. i personally wouldn't wear a world champion or kotm etc jersey though.

When i bought my bike last year having no knowledge of cycling etiquette i was told whatever you do don't go wearing a yellow jersey and riding in France!

Im of the view wear what makes you happy. I know when i am kicking a football down the park wearing a Man Utd shirt doesn't make me Wayne Rooney and equally I don't see the problem of wearing team kit when cycling.

This is why i got a liquigas jersey. Ive got a quickstep one too. I think pro jerseys are great because they are colourful and all that.

Wear whatever keeps the cars off of you. That is all that matters.

Cyclists can be such snobs, especially those in their club's kit.

I agree with the "wear what you like" viewpoint.

However, that is qualified by the fact that I would never wear a world champ, yellow or british national champ jersey. On the other hand, i really like foreign nat champ jerseys and have quite a few - swiss, lux, brazil, italy x 2.

Just realised another qualification to the "wear what you like" thing.

People on fancy aero bikes who wear jerseys or jackets miles too big for them, billowing in the wind and rather undoing any aero effect of their fancy wheels or frame. Wear them by all means, but I might think you're a bit daft.

I'm sure well fitting jerseys save more drag than aero wheels.

Personally i wouldn't wear a "leaders jersey" i.e polka dot/yellow/wc and privately might think that those that do are asking for trouble, but i'd never actually say anything...they are entitled to wear what they like.

I'm waiting for Planet X to get the Rock Racing jerseys in stock (going to go for the black and white one - nothing too garish).

I realise it's wrong on so many levels to wear one of these things, not least as I'm in my late thirties!!

BUT it's my money and if I want to look like a knob then I will!!

My only rule when it comes to pro jerseys etc is not to wear matching bibs (plain black only) otherwise I think it looks like the wearer is trying too hard.....(stands back and waits to be shot down in flames).

Where did you get this one? Think the kit is super and will stand out a mile for the cars to spot. Havent been able to track it down yet.

Although I must admit I do snigger a bit when I see a MAMIL - overweight, unfit, with a fancy expensive bike and full team kit, team helmet, fancy sunglasses plodding along at a speed I could keep up with when walking.
