Hi,

Currently off bike injured so taking the opportunity to fettle on things I have been thinking about for a while.

Carrying a 3 chain ring setup has become more ludicrous for me as I never use the granny and once in a blue moon the outer. I want to try going to a single ring up front.

Going to up it to a 34t or 36t up front and get the chain guide - however i keep hearinig references to numbers on what my 'chain line' is.

What is this?
How do I determine what mine is?

Thx
Ian

you measure from the middle of the seat post to the centre of the rings.

    normally 50mm now.

you dont normally need this info though just remove cogs fit bash and ring you want and use along with a chain retainer of choice.
