i am inthe market for a new road helmet and have a choice between a giro monza or saros but am not sure which one to go for, i require the helmets for long and short sprint training sesions , sportives and leisure rides and maybe in the future road race events.
i understand they are pretty much similar just different styling . any help would be appreicated

Only you and your head knows which one, or any other helmet fits you best.0

You need to try both to see which fits better.
I have a Saros and it fits me fine, is pretty light and has good airflow. The Saros got a very good write up in a review I read a couple of years ago - it was particularly praised as being excellent value for money compared with the more expenisve Atmos and Ionos.0 -
Ive just got a Giro Saros from planet x - 49 quid delivered
Havent been out in it yet but feels light and fit is good. However, it still makes me look like mushroom head, but not as bad as prev helmet (giro indicator)0 -
I've got 1 Monza and 2 Saros.... They're all comfortable and TBH not sure what the difference is. Cycle Surgery was selling of Saros for £44 +postage a while back...Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Don't you find aerodynamic drag is an issue with three heads?0 -

Hehe.... that's nothing. I've got about 7 or 8 different helmets. 1 for every outfit and occasion.... Does my head look big in this?Do not write below this line. Office use only.0 -
yup agree with the other posters
I have a Saros that i bagged when cycle surgery were selling them off. Not as good as the top end stuff but then it was a third of the price and the real world difference equated to something like 20g more for £100 less
if you can afford it and want too, go with the more expensive one otherwise the saros is all the lid you will need0 -

The Monza RRP is less than the Saros, so in theory the Saros should be a higher spec helmet...Do not write below this line. Office use only.0 -
d'oh...
I think the same point probably applies then - buy the cheapest, the differences are virtually non existant and it comes down to personal taste0 -
I just looked at both to replace one for my g-friend and the Saros looks like a higher spec helmet than the Monza - there's more covered EPS (expanded poly styrene) whereas the Monza has more exposed EPS at the back which gets damaged earlier & easier.
I'd go for the Saros, plus they're being discontinued so you won't see them around for much longer. When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0 -
Update. Got my saros delivered Monday, two rides later and its busted!
The roc loc circular adjuster at the rear of helmet has sheared, really dissapointing.
Have emailed Planet x to sort replacement0 -
