Is there a model that allows you to race against youself on one of your previous routes turn by turn so you can tell at every glance where you were on older rides?

Why is that important? Surely all that matters is the total time, and you can keep a record of that yourself.0

The 800 does too, I find it useful for when I run a known route I can see at any given time whether I am ahead or behind by time and distance0

Quite a useful function although the virtual training partner on mine is a cheating bastard0

and the 500.
I think all of them have the virtual partner. You can record or create a route and then race against an arrow or blob (depending on which screen you prefer).0 -

Really just to give me a better idea throughout the ride were abouts i need to improve or were i,m weaker than before0 -
As others have said the 705 does, I'm not sure if it's a bit sad or a really cleaver tool but it certainly works to motivate me to beat my previous times.0

I have used Virtual partner mode on the turbo trainer before and found it useful. Not sure about out on the road though.
Btw the Forerunner 305 has it too.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

My 305 has it.
You send the existing ride back to the device as a virtual partner.0 -
