ingredients
1 x Squidy Banana the squidgier the better
1 x pot of ice cold Ambrosia Chocolate flavour Devon custard
2/3rds of a pint of ice cold semi skimmed milk

Pour all ingredients into blender and press the BZZZZZZZ button till thoroughly blitzed and creamy. Pour into pint glass through a sieve to take any lumps out park your sweaty weary carcass in a chair and apply internally whilst making M M Mmmmmm noises. Tastes much better than any choc milkshake in a plastic bottle from the petrol station. Might even do you some good.

1/3 pint of 1% fat milk
1 x tablespoon smooth peanut butter

for a complete recovery drink. You will need to add whey protein powder.

as milk does not contain all the branch chain amino acids the body requires for muscle repair...

thats why I use REGO..... chocolate...mmmmmmm

and no I dont have anything to do with SIS.

Not tried this with Rego chocolate yet but sure it would work, but here's my recipe:

    Take Rego strawberry recovery powder,
Completely ignore the add to water instruction,
    Add to milk,
    Shake like mad,
Enjoy a great tasting strawberry milkshake!

    Oooh!

I was going to ask if anyone had any post-ride drink recipes. I bought a load of For Goodness Shakes for 20p each at the beginning of the year, but I've now run out, so this is perfect timing.

Wrong diy, you need carbs AND protein post workout.

Its critical you take carbs after a wokout, because it starts the whole recovery/muscle growth process. Following a hard workout, your body is severely depleted of glycogen and glucose.

The body's main priority post-workout is to replenish glycogen stores.

So the goal post-workout more specifically is to restore muscle glycogen. The body will even break down muscle tissue for this purpose if carbohydrates are not available. For this reason, it is vital to include carbohydrates in the post-workout drink. But what form of carbs is best for this purpose?

Whilst oats may not be the ideal carb (as its a slow release one) its very easy to just throw in a shake without having to blend it.

Consuming nothing but vast quantities of protein after strenuous excersise is fine for roid injecting tiny cocked weight lifters and body builders who just want to bulk up to impress the other tiny cocked muscle marys and pose in front of a mirror but is a bad idea for cyclists.

All hail the cyclists best friends the mighty cow juice and the Banana. Plus Ambrosia custard as a little treat for all the sweaty pedalling.
