Size related problem..

Hi everyone,
I want a hybrid to get to work, but want to save money (baby due soon).
Thinking one of the decathlon b'twin 5 daily bikes, look quite nice tbh. Nothing special, but only £220.
However, I have a size dilemma. The medium size is for people 1.55-1.73m and the large is for people 1.73-1.85m....... I'm 1.73m! I'm going to try and sit on one of each, but what are people's thoughts:
a) get the smaller frame and be at the upper limit?
b) get the larger frame and be at the lower limit?
which makes more sense to you?
thanks all
Duke
PS I've always had trouble with size, my mountain bikes are sometimes 15", sometimes 17", and my road bike is 56cm, although i think it might be a little big.... arrghhh!

can you get to see the full geo numbers? as "size" is only a guide against theor next on in the range.
by how much is the top tube lengthened?
see what you can find out and compare to your current bike and then the best is Butt on saddle."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
