Beginner routes near Gretna

Hi folks, new to mountain biking and the forum just wanted some places to ride near to Gretna?

    Newcastleton-Ae-Mabie 7stanes all have green/blue beginner routes...

    Add Whinlatter nr Keswick to the list above, probably the best blue/beginners route around. If you then feel adventurous the South loop is reasonably do-able with care on a couple of bits on the descent or just do the first half of the route descending from the boardwalk jump if the climb is too much
    Grizdale down in the Lakes is not too difficult, maybe just a bit too long till you get some miles into your legs
    Good little skills loop at Mabie to practice stuff like berms and small drops. Stay off the big jumps and woodwork stuff :?
