hi, had a problem a few months ago, when i pushed hard in certain gears i heard a clicking noise then cranks would lose tension for a second, like slipping. took bike to shop and was told neeeded new cassette and chain, had them replaced and all was fine, until today, problem has reoccured and can be a real pain in arse when pushing up a tricky climb. could this be my chainset? any ideas would be good, cheers

you need to look at it and see where it is slipping.

there are only 3 places that slipping can happen.

chain crankset and chain and cassette. the final one is the freebody.

so the cassette is new then if could be one of the other two.

    cheers
will get out tomorrow and try and get a look when it happens , just difficult to see as problem only occurs when its under load.
