I want to set up a mountain bike website and was wandering what people wanted? I want it to be new and helpful, so was hoping you could throw some ideas at me :)
Thanks,

Not my cup of tea, I'd prefer them to be naked.

Needs more lime, string and liver.

Needs to be based out of Rhyl

Needs to have an option similar to the "like" button on facebook etc saying "+Potato"

    You should call it Sheepsteeth

Every external link should take people here

    Hope that helps.

It should also have very little biking related content.

IIRC, it was Joshs idea. I think it was shelved due to his developing penchant for manporn

Excellent! I have a wet keyboard now.

As for a mtb site? How about a feature on the other uses of spokes? I've often felt that they're a great multi use item which nobody exploits.

Yeah, I'm sure I read something about a restraining order and something about not being allowed within 500 feet of men whilst operationg a video camera?

Right so far, its going to include lots of naked ladies, some riding fort william, some doing backflips, pictures of bacon, every link takes people to a page about horses and should possibly contain the complete opposite information to a mountain biking website? This sounds sick! Any more suggestions?

I'd actually pay to subscribe to this website if it contains all of the things mentioned above.

You need a "daily hate" article where you choose a random topic and explain why you hate everything about it. Then include a comments section for people to say you're talking poop. This gets your visit count up

I liked this idea so much, I have just purchased the domain name "www.sheepsteeth.info"

It should be up within the hour, and I DO plan on using it. Although I'm not quite sure what I'll use it for yet.

    Cost me a whopping £0.67

I hate so many things passionately, that I genuinely thought of creating a "what I hate today" kind of website. But then I realised that most people don't care what I hate, and that it's far more fun to hunt people on here, who passionately love what I passionately hate, and drive them insane.

The amazing thing about the internet though is the fact that people who do not know you (or care about you) will still get worked up over anything you say.

    I know
But they're far less likely to stumble upon my website, so I go hunting for them instead.

What you do then is go on forums like this, insult everyone and then make it known you have a website (make out you put a lot of effort into it so people will enjoy knocking it more).

I have a blog which I rarely use...more for when I want to put something on Facebook that is too long. I got bored of it after a while though.

    Spelling.
I’ve just set up the facebook page!

On the facebook page feel free to discus anything cycling related and post pictures from your latest rides.

It suddenly came to me that the ‘chaining’ idea could become much more simple by using a facebook page to host the disscussions and a place to share your thoughts and pictures!

So go ahead and head over HERE but the link is being ever so tempermentle (:@) so if the link dosent work search CycleChain in facebook and we should pop up!

Any problems or recommendations with the page feel free to comment below!
    Categori
    New Around Here!

So, first of lets start with a Hello! (bear with me on this post, i might go off on a bit of a tangent!)

I thought id make this post as a general overview of what i want this website too be but also as a bit of a test post, but anyway some

may enjoy reading and finding out what i have in store for this site.

Firstly, CycleChain. The name. I used this name as i thought that the word chain had a lot of significance in cycling, no matter whether its road cycling, mountain biking, commuting or general plodding along on a bike. Not only is the chain a part of the bike itself but it also signifies what most us cyclists do by riding in packs! We chain together and help each other on the lung burning hills and then laugh as we roll down the other side. Although CycleChain is mostly my personal blog for ranting about things i don’t like and love, i also hope that the chain aspect in cycling carries on here, in the way that people can post there rides up and carry the chain on so that other people can ride it and then post there opinions. It also is an opportunity for the lone cyclist to be able to chain along with other people by posting their local ride and getting some opinions.

After reading that last paragraph i realised i made this sound like a social networking site, but trust me, its not!

I plan on doing some regular posts like a weekly hate article and some training tips every now and then, but most of the time the posts are going to be generally about cycling, whether its road or mountain, whether its normal post or rant! This site is going to revolve around cycling.

In the future i may add a forum or specific page to this site, to make chaining together a whole lot easier, but for the time being your going to have to do with the comments section!

Anyway, thats my long winded, pointless post out of the way for today,

Now lets get out on the bike!

    Apart from the spelling, amateurish.
Bit of code poking out the top, a link to facebook, and a promise of some stuff written by you.
Why would anyone want to come back and look again?
And the name makes you sound like a shop.
