This is the 2010 edition which I got for £800. Been riding it for just over a year now - lovely entry level bike and a pleasure to ride.

Stock components apart from upgrades to the wheels and tyres which are:

Kinetic K1 Deep rim wheels with Schwalbe Ultremo R.1 Tyres

Plus some red chain ring bolts and valve caps!

Cost £1000 with the new wheels and tyres.

What are people's thoughts on a white seat post and white stem for upgrades - would that be too much white?

    A highly succulent ride...

I have just snagged a brand new 2011 Elite for £660 still boxed! First upgrades I plan are wheels 'n' tyres.

As for the white dilema, I actually prefer the look of yours to mine whihc has a white stem, white striped forks and a big silvery-white stripe on't seatpost.

For a vague idea of how yours would look I think looking at the stock 2011 allez elite photo would give you an idea.

Looks good as is though to my mind.

Reach a certain point of maturity and you will become a whole lot less interested in how your bike looks.

Nonsense. Your comment is the antithesis of this forum :P

Very nice looking bike, can I go a bit off topic here and ask how you find the Kinetic K1 Deep rim wheels, for the price they are very temping to try out.

The wheels are great, had no problems with them at all. For £160 I don't think you can argue with the price - build quality is good and they also look the part.

The only wheels I have to compare them with though are the stock wheels and tyres which were pretty poor!

And Berk your comment makes little sense in this forum when most upgrade their bike with both visual and performance in mind....

Exact same colour scheme as my bike(not a Spesh) and I also considered upgrading to those wheels. The way they looked was a big part of why they were considered, why wouldn't you want to buy something that makes your steed look better?

    Cracking bike mate.

    Like that.

    Is that a Romin saddle?

    Good spot :)
It's a Romin Gel saddle. I changed it as the standard Riva was pretty uncomfortable.

Tempted by a Romin. Started to get a bit of discomfort on 40+ milers from my circa 2007 Toupe Gel on my Allez which I've not had before. I don't have it on either my Toupe Team or Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow. Wondered if the saddle might've suffered from being attached to a bike now consigned to the garage year round.

Loving the colour of those wheels/tyres SDK - now you just need a red stem, seatpost and seat!
