can't seem to source a replacement 165mm for my zaskar 2011 elite anywhere. Why does it seem so hard to Find spares for this bike!?

It's a 160mm rotor and I've got one if you want it, I'll PM you. I don't want to be done for advertising on threads.0

GT website lists the Zaskar Elite using Avid Elixir 3, c/w 165mm Rotor and from the photo it looks like G3 rotors.
I can't find a 165mm Avid rotor on the net and Discount cabin listing states165mm rotors for Avid disc brakes are no longer available?
If you have no luck tracking down a 165mm rotor I'd be inclined to take the opportunity to upgrade to a 185mm rotor and adaptor
(I've checked, your forks will allow it)0 -
For some reason I really doubt that Avid made a special rotor 5mm bigger just for the Zaskar. It looks like a typo to me.
The only way to know for sure is to have a look at the rear, the size should be printed on it somewhere. As the front is the same size as the rear0 -

Avid used to produce 165mm rotors but iirc they were predominately for mechanical disc brakes.0 -
well, the only way to know is to check the size of the rear rotor which is the same size.0

Hi Al,
Yes these look exactly the same. I guess these will help with braking also?

interesting as I can not find any genuine Avid 165 Rotors.
From 2008 to 2011 140/160/185/203 only."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
