first time out yesterday on my newly built Vitus Full suspension.
Got to say I was mightily impressed. Completely different experience around Whinlatter than on my Hardtail.. smoother and more forgiving, gave me more confidence to hit things harder and faster. In fact at one jump, if i'd been on the Innbred I'd have been over the bars, but the 40mm Revelations just soaked it up and carried on
I won't start the FS is better than HT though, just different :D:D:D

after 2 years only using my scott scale30 ht, i bought a 5pro. The initial outings ascent was far more difficult.....but the decent was so much more fun. I had forgotten the diffrence!
And I agree with you,its not better its diffrent.

it still pedals rather well, even with a fairly basic float R, it does have pro-pedal tough.
Still a place for mt HT in the shed though. Its on C2C duties in 3 weeks...
Don't fancy that on the FS!!!

Nothing wrong with fs on the c2c infact if you do some of the off road sections it adds to the fun. I took my five pro over the scale 20 last weekend when we did it.

I was up whinlatter today on the five and had fun but I really need to up my skill level and fitness

40mm revs? Either they're massively under-travel or you've got the wrong forks

  • Best to own both types as sometimes they're necessary and sometimes they ain't.

Just like Spds, sometimes they're necessary, (take part / training for racing) and sometimes they ain't, (weekend warrior pootler completely deluded about the importance/need of )
