I did pinarello couple of times and one year had a great ruck sack, next time one of those dressing gowns like hotels have :D
At the end always a pasta fest.
Decent t shirt would be ok,
Dont like thos tacky goody bag with gross energy bars, sweets and general rubbish in them.

For me, a good quality sportive with great route and feed stations that has more than a bottle of water available is a winner.

No need for any of the 'tat' that's given out as always drives up cost, therefore allowing for a cheaper entry fee......tough times out there!

Before, just clear instructions. After; a time and result published in a spreadsheet form with times and age groups shown. I know it's not a race, and not everyone puts in 100% for a time, but it's still interesting to compare.
T shirt, medal , cereal bars and drink powder or jelly hyped up as "energy " products are of no value. a cup of tea would be nice.

Nice link to Cornwall and all that, but was noticeable there was no queue for the pasty stand at the Dragon Ride yesterday.

How about offering finishers the chance to get free entry to next year's event? Maybe the first 100 to apply get in free. Your best form of marketing will be personal recommendation and you'll get a lot of this if people have got in free. It's also unique and will create a buzz.

That's why events like the Dragon Ride are so popular - because there's a buzz about them, everyone knows/hears about them - not because they're better than many other sportives, but because they're well-known.
