hello.
anyone know if can park somewhere in bourg or even adh (or close) before kick off? staying 35 km away and could do without an extra 70km on the day. Some parking fields made available?
Also..how to get back down if in bourg. would rather not pxss the masses off cycling down the hill as they all come up unless thats the usual form..

Def quite acceptable to cycle down once finished, lots do and i dont think it pi**es anyone off at all. Too tired to notice to be honest!
Cars seems to be left everywhere in Bourg in the morning. I think if you are early enough you should be ok, not aware of a field being used tho. The road past the roundabout and up to the start of Alpe climb itself is quite popular.

There were loads of cars parked along the road towards the start of the d'ornon climb outside bourg d'osans last year. It only a couple of k's from bourg.
It was fine to descend the alpe after the event, the road is open for traffic and there is alot of room.0 -
Yeah big layby here http://bit.ly/lKiWAI just where you would go up to Col d'Ornon - but get there early.
OR
at worst park up at Allemond and ride back up to Bourg.0 -
thanks - when you mean early ..what time is early you reckon. actually no idea what time it starts...must look that up on web. Doing the Vaujauny weekend before so will check strategic laybys out0

I had 6am in mind when I posted, but not done it since 2008 so my memory might be faulty. Isn't "go time" 7am?0
