Hi all,
Just looking for a bit of advice on a 1st bike. I tend to ride the trails at glentress at peebles and getting fed up with the hired bikes there, so decided to get my own but dont know where to start.
ive had a quick look and like the follow:-
Specialized Rockhopper Expert Disc
Specialized Hardrock Pro Disc
Specialized Rockhopper 2011 Mountain
Cannondale Trail SL 4
any feedback would be great

If you can afford a Rockhopper, then forget the Hardrock. The Expert is comfortably the best specced there.
These are all more XC focused bikes, if you are tackling the harder riding at these places then a bike with a burlier build and longer fork may be beneficial ie:

Though ideally you would try them first.0 -

Lots of trail centres in Scotland.
But you need to nail down just how hard you will be riding? XC, wheels on the ground? Or harder stuff, with a few jumps and drops?0
