Snapping mech hangers

I was messing around on the streets earlier and did a drop off, I went to pedal off and my rear mech hanger had just snapped clean off and my rear derailleur was hanging off. I pushed back home, took the damaged one off and replaced it with an old one that I've straightened up. I did the same drop again and it snapped clean again. I've never had anything like this before. My technique's sound, I'm landing quite softly so what is it, I'm stumped?

Is the rear mech set up right?

Which gear were you in when it snapped?

Once a hanger has been bent it's done it's job, if you straighten it it will be weaker, hence the snapping of the 2nd one

oh well. if it was mech adjsutment then it'll be sorted soon as I'll have a new rear mech, new mech hanger, new shifters, new cables and possibly a new front mech.
