The Boardman is much better value. Sensors have nice frames, and the suspension works very well for many, but the spec is let down, especially the rear shock.
  • cheers for reply.
ust noticed their both in june issue of what mountain bike doh! :o
will have to try the boardman out at halfords now.

I don't think halfords lets you buy/lease through cycle2work as they have their own scheme. The scheme ran by my own work place only lets us use LBS's to keep business in the area which is a shame as KHS bikes look like good deals and the fella there is very helpful. However I can't argue with keeping the LBS in business.

I'm looking at the Sensor as well (reason as above) and was wondering if the frame is good enough for general big days out in snowdonia etc. If so, I can upgrade parts as I go.
  • arent all the schemes the same??
not sure if my wife would let me get a bike for a grand just to go and change the shock next pay day!! otherwise the gt did get a goodreview. looks quite stealthy too, ooh get a black helmet and i could be original Stig of the biking world!
If in doubt - flat out!

I think the schemes skim some money and halfords isn't into that, so they have there own.

My upgrading plan would be long term i.e. when things break as I'm skint. I'm staying away from the stig colours incase my friends cycle past me when i'm on the deck.

Anyone out there got a sensor? or info on how solid the frame is?

Dont let Halfords put you off getting what is essentially a cracking bike

  • thanks rich,

how are you finding your boardman?
If in doubt - flat out!
  • Gotta say the Team FS is a genuinely great bike. I got one a few weeks ago and apart from a slightly bent mech hanger, a bloody awful saddle (some kind of medieval torture device) and cheap flat pedals I can't fault it. It's not missed a beat and has been really thrashed since I got it

Why would a local bike shop be any better? If you don't know the stores, who can say?

    Depends on the staff.
