After many weeks of studying road bikes i came across the cube gtc race compact bike and instantly fell in love with it.Problem is i am having trouble locating a 58 size bike.

My Local bike shop told me the demand has been very high and cube bikes arent making any more until till 2012.
Is there any truth in this ,if so why arent cube making extra bikes ?

Thanks ...Rhurbarb

There are plenty here in the Netherlands if you want one but which model do you want. there are more than just one Cube GTC Compact and what colour(s) were you looking for.

They had a GTC Pro in stock last time I looked, may even be a 58

Careful with the sizing tho, I normally use 58's but the cubes come up small, so you may need a 60.. I have the GTC pro by the way (red one) Lovely bikes.

Yes - always go up at least one size on Cube's.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the 2011 GTC (any spec) are like rocking horse sh**, doubtful you will find one. I'll be taking my GTC Race around the Dragon Gran Fondo route tomorrow.

To answer your question; CUBE only make x amount of frames in a year, these are distributed, and thats all there are until the following year. Consider the cost of a CUBE GTC look at the groupset et al, now try and get a similar bike with the same setup; So they are doing something right.

    Thanks for your comments guys.I
I was looking for the cube agree gtc race ..On the cube website its white/ blue but i prefer the red/white pro colour sceme Need the integra setup with the fulcrum wheels ...Do they do that in the netherlands? Blue is fine with me but reds suits even better....
Guy in the shop said ii would suit a 56 on a cube but looked like a childs bike to me so checked a 58 and that seemed more like the size for me,,im 5ft 10 with 30 inch legs so kinda short .....Needs to be a comfy position as my back isnt the best at times
Will check out all the replies Thanks very much...Rhurbarb :P
  • I'm 5'10" with a 32" leg, tried both 56 & 58 but the 58 felt too stretched out so got the 56. About 1500 miles on it so far, feels fine.

A bit of an odd business model - demand outstrips current stock, so we'll not make any more and turn away business.

I've a friend who was after a new bike, picked a cube. Shop couldn't get it in so he's gone for a different bike. Therefore cube loses a sale. Can't imagine many people willing to wait a year for a cube.

Prologue Bikes in East Sheen, Surrey are very good and I've bought 2 Cube's from them. One is the GTC SL compact.

I bought a Cube Litening Super HPC a few months ago size 56 cm which I reckon is equivilent to a 52cm in other makes. It was last years model which I managed to get for £1750 and I am really pleased with it.
