a few weeks ago, my eldest daughter (9) started to clean my bike, i asked why the change in heart as she wasn,t interested in cycling before,
she said dad, i want a road bike, are you sure i said, she said she wants to ride with her friend who,s 10 at the local cycling club on sundays,

so off to Decathlon and a few hundred quid later we have a nearly but just a tad too big at the moment 6061 alu road bike, its nice, and she loves it, however i could see she was a bit stretched out but she,s tall for her age,
but with a bit of stem and seat post adjustment/ reversal shes getting close, she can even change gear,
problem is though the brake levers seem to be too far away, i did see another bike in decathlon with cyclo cross style top levers, but that was far too small but didnt see any levers on the shelves, so chaps i was wondering if you could say if this was the best route to go and if it was, a lever make preference, and the hand reach distance from the handlebar to the additional brake lever. apart from that she has her new helmet, sidi shoes,
(without the cleats) loads of clothing and some comfy shorts. and i have an empty wallet again.

They're cane creek crosstop levers. Thinking about putting them on my tourer
    Say... That's a nice bike..

  • What brand are the brake levers, and are they shifters too? My SRAM, and I believe Shimano do too, have an adjustable reach. There;s a small allen bolt that's exposed when you pull the lever, and turning that decreases/increases the reach. Might be worth looking at?
