SRAM/Avid XO front brake judder/grind

New bike with these brakes fitted - ridden about 100 miles to this point.
Brakes have been as smooth as, no squeal, nothing - totally perfect until at the weekend I noticed midway through a ride that the front brakes had started to judder/grind a little under braking.
Rears are completely fine (despite much more use!).
Thought it was pad wear (they're organic pads btw), but on inspection, they weren't. Gave them a little sand, and once again they were smooth under braking - thought I was sorted. But 5 mins into riding just now, the judder/grind returns.
Another inspection, sand and replace led to the same thing - fine for a while and then it comes back.
There's nothing on the discs (that I can see) - appear to be completely clean. Could it be some accidental lube?
Any ideas? I'm stumped!

swap them over with the rears.
they could be embedded with stuff and they are actually Organics."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
