Woman's bike for under £400

About to buy a bike for my wife, it will mostly be used for rough off road. Suspension (i.e ride comfort) is most important!

I have narrowed it down to these two:

Marin Coast Trail
Giant Revel 1 W

Both I can get for the same price-£380
Which one spec wise do you think is best, or would you recommend an alternative - budget £400.

    I recently bought the wife the Revel 2 and aside from set up problems by the LBS I think it is a really good bike for the ££'s. I think the only upgrade from the 2 your getting is Disc's. Frame seems good and sturdy the fork is what you'd expect for the money. All in all not a bad budget bike for birds!!

    Spec is low end on both, the Marin is dire.
    Have a look at some Carerras in Halfords.
    I don't do smileys.
