resin and semimetal

are they the same thing? i got 2 sits of pads one resin, and one semimetal

    Are they the same? The clue is in the names.

    To elaborate, the pads are made from different compounds, the difference between them is debatable, with many people offering conflicting opinions about the relative merits of both types of pad.

    different makers call things different names.
