Stem Noise

Try reassembling with a smear of carbon assembly paste at the interface and you shouldn't need to tighten the bolts too much to get it silent.
Works on my carbon seatpost / alloy frame0 -
Assembly paste may not work. I used assembly paste and the noises started! Check for movement in the bearings by holding the front brake on and rocking the front wheel back and forth.
If you find play or clicking then you could check the preload on the top cap after loosening the stem bolts.
If the preload is OK then I am not sure what the next step is!!
I'm waiting for a suggestion from Ribble.100% ME!
Do you think I would be this bad on drugs?0 -
Change the stem for a metal one. Or the bars for carbon ones.
Carbon and metal sounds like a recipe for noise.0 -
Check the front quick release too0
