Coast to Coast off road? Or any other good multi day ride?
Hiya Gents,
I have three months left in the UK and I wanted to plan an epic multi day event. LE 2 JOG was my initial idea but I don't have that sort of time available between family and work commitments.
So Coast to Coast off road seems like a good ride.
Has anyone done this off road and possibly got a general route idea or gpx?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, I am going to order the book as a few sites/people have suggested it.
I think September will be the best month for me, when are you planning on doing it ?
There is so much info out there, just reading through the various routes etc.

I'm heading off on Saturday morning... not sure quite how well its going to go :? but there are six of us so at least it should a bit of craic...
I got the route planner and book from Sustrans which has helped a bit but really it should be fairly well signposted.
My biggest tip, is book early - this website is really helpful http://www.c2cplaces2stay.co.uk/
Good luck as and when you do it!Ragley mmmBop

I'm doing the Trans Pennine Trail (Southport to Hornsea) in August for 'Charidee' with approx 30 others - 207 miles in 2 days

The Sustrans C2C(Sea to sea) and the Coast to Coast are two very different routes.
The C2C is Workington to Sunderland on greenlanes/minor roads etc and the Coast to Coast(Wainrights)St Bee's head to Robin Hoods Bay is mainly off road over some big hills (the first leg in the Lakes being a bit of a grueller)
The latter is a lot tougher.
The Coast to Coast(Wainrights) is on my list.Done the Great Glen and West Highland Ways so it just feels right to do it next 8)0 -
Have'nt done the coast to coast but recommend the Trans Cambrian as a good multiday ride:

Aamazing scenery enough hills and miles to make it challenging, some people have done it in day but they must be machines. We had poor weather and I still enjoyed it.0 -
We did the C2C this time last year, it was hard going. We did it in 4 days, but if I did it again I would look to do it in 5 or 6 days, just to be able to take in the scenery instead of being head down all the time.
This is the MBR C2C Route, hope it helps. We almost rode the same but with abit of an exception before Ambleside.
The 1st day is a killer but worth the effort. Make sure you try to pick a time when the weather is dry, because the bit around Tan Hill can be boggy as hell. The drop into Robin Hoods Bay is great, especially for the pint at the end.....
Attempted the WHW 5 weeks ago, but came off bike on 1st day and ended up knackering ligaments around ankle.... Looking at attempt no.2 same time next year.0
