New Rim suggestions

It appears that I am forever getting my rear wheel trued on my bike, It is an Alex DP17 rim on a hardtail genesis core 20. Is the rim up to my 14 stone bulk rattling down Golspie on a hardtail. Or should I upgrade to something a bit better? My concern is if I put a stonger rim on it that something else such as the frame will take the brunto of the impacts. Ideally I want someone to convince my wife tha an orange 5 is a good idea but I dont think that will happen any time soon

It is more an XC rim, it could be damaged or just built by a monkey.
A whole new wheel is cheaper than a new rim, spokes and wheel build.0 -
You are very unlikely to damage the frame using decent wheels.I don't do smileys.

Ok so a better wheel would be a good choice what sort of thing should I be looking at. My LBS is excellent to deal with and I would be quite happy to let them build me a wheel up from scratch. Something strong but not too heavy?AUT PAX AUT BELLUM
