Checked the weather map and it **looks** like I'm going to have a crossing tailwind on the way IN

and a full on tailwind all the way HOME :D:D:D:D

wind from NW to west inbound - I go SW to NE to work
wind directly from the NE homebound

please, please, please be right :P

I'm going to use the Madone just in case and go for a flying ride home.

Borg? They make clutches don't they?

How did it go then? Was it a +23mph avg for the journey in? The world is agog, some of it anyway.

journey in was not much quicker than normal. I need to check the camera footage to confirm the time; I was in 10 minutes early, but this may be accounted for by leaving slightly early as well...

The crossing wind turned more into a mild headwind but it really was barely noticeable. Now there is no wind at all, not even a breeze.

It's the run home I'm looking forward to :D

The wind IS picking up and it IS coming from the NW. I very rarely see the trees bending in the direction they are at the moment :D

    WTF is a tailwind?

With my body mass (see separate post) I'd be like a train with the wind behind me, even Lance A in his prime with every possible assistance wouldn't keep up...for the first 200 metres or so... 8)

It's just a hill. Get over it.

    Actually; I have a problem.

Do I go for the PB on a commute home (which is presently about 36 mins for the 12 miles) or do I extend the ride home and take in some of the countryside?

(I have no water bottle with me though)

Well - it all went a bit Pete Tongue.

Video will be included shortly... Eon van pulled out on me and I almost ended up smeared on the side of it (slight exaggeration but not much of one)

All ended very well though as the guy had pulled in a mile down the road and a short and ultimately friendly chat later he had apologised profusely (and repeatedly) while looking utterly mortifiied at his mistake.

I think the moment when he DID realise what he had done was priceless, you could see the dawning moment written all over his face.

So we shook hands and I rode off all smiles again.

    (it was bloody close though!)
