Clicking sound in time with my pedalling??

I'm sure its the BB, but should I be worried? I get a clicking sound with each turn of the pedlas - it isnt the gears as I get it regardless of which one I'm in.
Is this the sound of imminent disaster? Or just a minor irritation??

What sort of clicking?
Check your front mech cable isn't knocking against your crank.
Just a gentle clicking...."Bed is for sleepy people.
Let's get a kebab and go to a disco."

I had some stock flat pedals that the reflector had worked its way out just far enough that it was clicking against the crank each revolution. Simple fix, just pushed it back in - a longer lasting fix, pedals w/o reflectors.0

Sounds like 2 pound coins in the pocket.0

i had a similar problem quite a while ago, after dripping some grease into the pedal axle and crank and helping work it in, it disappeared and i haven't heard it since0

Have you checked to see if someone is following you around, clicking only when you pedal?0

Deraillleur hanger/rear skewer?0

Probably the pedals. Mine were clicking/creaking and I was sure it was the BB but took the pedals off and regreased and it's fine now.0

take off, clean and re-grease the pedals, this has solved the same issue for me. Also worth checking how tight quick releases and seat post are0

I was sure it was the BB too, so I renewed it- it wasn't that!
Then I was sure it was the pedal bearings, so i greased them - wasn't them either.
Then I thought it was the chainring bolts - it wasn't them either.
So I tightened my seat collar and greased my seat post - not that.
Then i did JOGLE and it rained a fair bit in Scotland, then it (the click) went away
when the bike was wet.
Then it dried out by the time we got into England and the click came back.
Now its driving me mental.
Really mental :evil:If Wales was flattened out, it'd be bigger than England!

If you have a shimano hollowtech 2 bb, I normally find it's worth removing it, cleaning and regreasing the threads and reinstalling. Gets rid of bb noises caused by grit or dirt. I discovered this when I thought mine was knackered, bought a new one, had a practice removing/installing the old etc and it cured all squeaks and ticks, I've still got the new bb in a box a year later.0

What shoes you wearing, I had trouble pinpointing a clicking noise when pedalling turns out the shoes I have have multiple fixings for different cleats, one of which involves a piece of floating metal in the sole of the shoe. This moving turned out to be the noise....

This. Occurs now and again on my dhb R1s. Seems the alternative cleat fixing that I don't use slides back and forward with the pedalling motion. Sometimes it lodges itself, sometimes it comes loose and the clicking starts again. Only in one shoe mind you.
Did my head in for days until i figured it out.0 -
Are your spokes radial or laced by which i mean do they overlap? If they overlap it could be the drive side of your rear wheel thats making the noise. Get them checked by you LBS ( local bike shop ) especially if its a newish bike, they`ll stretch a tiny bit in their first few months of work and the extra slack will cause them to move against each other and then release as the wheel revolves causing the click, if that makes sense.0

May not even be anything to do with drivetrain, was getting a clicking (more than 1 click per chainset revolution) took bike apart regreased everything, but I think it was coming from fork stem. Gone now.Say... That's a nice bike..

in all seriousness... check the links on your chain.
If its a regular click that happens continously, a link could be bent or broken.
i had been riding for about 3 weeks with the consistent click feeling and i thought it was my cleat/pedal... then climbing up a hairpin bend the chain exploded.. one of the links was worn right down to almost nothing.
chain replaced.. clicking gone.0 -
Try adjusting your quick release, I had a clicking sound when out of the saddle yesterday, a quick adjustment and all was fine again... 8)VO2 Max - 79 ml/kg/min

Try checking the excess cable from the front derailleur.
Simple as it sounds I had an annoying clicking and found it sticking out, hitting the crank on each revolution.0 -
I once had a loud click that could only be heard when pedalling. I was worried sick some vital pedal or crank bearing had cracked.
Turned out the pull-tab of a zip, on a pocket halfway up the inside thigh, was striking the top tube every time my right leg went up and down.0
