Advice for a new rider

I have recently started cycling regularly, as a means to increase fitness and as a new sport.
I currently do the following sessions each week
- 6 x 5 mins with 2-3 mins rest
- 10 x 1 mins with 1 min rest
- 2 x 20 mins with 5-10 mins rest
- Long ride about 50-60 miles usually out to boxhill and surrey
Are these the right sort of sessions to be doing? I've put an entry in for the richmond park timetrial, so are these the right sort of sessions for 10 mile timetrials?
Any advice is appreciated about any aspect of training and cycling.

Sounds fine.
To be honest, just getting out and riding is fine enough > don't let the rigorous training regieme spoil the joy of cycling.
But yes, that aside.0
