Trek Liquid 65 Mountain Bike? Good for XC?

Hi all,

Not sure what happened to my last thread but a mate of mine is selling his Trek liquid 65 2005 at a special price for me £450, its in good condition but looks more suited for DH than XC???

Was going to spend the same money on upgrading parts on my specialized FSR but might just buy it off him? What you think work £450 to use as a XC bike?

    It aint an XC bike more AM. It is not DH.

    Yea thats what i was thinking, think i will give it a miss.
    Just need to wait for work to pull their finger out and do the ride to work scheme!
