Holiday cycle insurance?

Hi,

I am looking at taking my roadbike to Cyprus on my summer holiday. The airline charge £30 fee for taking a bike with you. I have 2 bikes and one is expensive and the other is not too expensive. Wondering if there is good enough cover to take the expensive bike or whether that is too risky and should look at taking my less expensive bike?

Have not found any sites in Cyprus that hire good quality roadbikes so would have to take my own if I want to enjoy cycling in Cyprus? Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

Also looking at going to Cape Town in March and would like to take my best bike and have the same issues. Thanks.

I would not rely on any insurance from the carrier. Just make sure that it is covered under your travel or home insurance and then go and enjoy riding your expensive bike in exotic places.
