Cyclosport.org website - where's it gone???

Am I missing something?? Just went to have a look at some events on the Cyclosport.org website and it's not there anymore!! Just re-directs you to the London-Paris website!!

Can anyone recommend a good list list / calendar of events in the UK?? cyclosport.org was the first (and therefore most were on there) but it looks like it needs a replacement!!

Cheers, glad it's not me going mad!! Even tried using my web history to go straight to a forum / calendar page, but just got an error message!!

Any other sites worth a look?? The BC one hasn't got much on there!!

The site is now redirecting to the London-Paris website. The London-Paris event is organised by Hot Chillee (www.hotchillee.com) who are the people who bought the cyclosport.org website from Mark Harding a few years ago and have administered it since then. Looks like Hot Chillee have "cooled" their interest in the Cyclosport website.

The last time cyclosport.org disappeared I put on a simple fixtures listing site (sportivefixtures.org.uk - now lapsed) but after a few days the cyclosport site reappeared. If there is no other site doing this then something will have to be done to make this info available to all. Any takers? All that punters need is an up to date fixtures list with links to event websites. The remainder of the cyclosport website was generally ignored (by me).

DON'T WORRY THE GUYS AND GIRLS AT CYCLOSPORT.ORG PROBABLY FORGOT TO PUT SOME POUNDS IN THE METER.

YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO ENTER SRS EVENTS THE TOUR DE WEALD

The L2P website that the cyclosport one directs to now says:

"Did you arrive here from Cyclosport.org?

Due to essential maintanence, we are redirecting users here. The site should be back live by Tuesday PM. Thanks for your patience."

Hence, normal service should be resumed shortly.

This is a good alternative and better for overall fixtures... http://www.cyclingcouncillor.com/index.asp?PageID=31

Why do so many folk ridicule the French and why do so many want to ride a bike to their capital :?:

    NOT impressed!
e.g. for June 5th there is no mention of Le Terrier, Spud Riley or Dragon Ride

Well F you mate, only trying to help.
  • Now what has happened to the site?

It is back and looks good but seems to have been infested by a lot of "Â" characters all over the place. I can't find how to edit my event on there anywhere and it says its over 3000 miles away from my house!

    Teething problems I reckon...

Like the email address at Contact Us doesn't work.
And if you'd rated an event before in previous years you couldn't rate it again this time around (fixed).
And all my results have disappeared, and the forums have been cleaned out.

    I'm sure it'll settle down...
  • Just checked back on it again and it looks ike its been fixed with the funny  characters now.

    Hi All,

Thanks for your concern about the site and apologies it's been a bit hit-and-miss over the past week. Since late last year we've been working on a new platform which has proved to be a huge task, due to the amount of data collated on events, ratings, timings etc since the site started in 2003.

When we made some technical changes it flipped the site to The London-Paris one (on the same server) which was frustrating.

Anyway, we're back with a brand new site that's going to have even more features than before. Over the next few weeks, we'll be making subtle changes through user testing but on the whole, it's working OK. Some of the features you might have used before are being migrated and will be back (blogs etc).

Thanks for your support and rest assured we'll be continuing to stay at the forefront of the events calendar and making sure everything is bang up to date.

If anyone has any difficulties using the site or any questions, just drop me a PM here or via the contact page on the site.

    Cheers,
