Had a ride there today and couldnt believe what happened, and who the hell was involved!!

Coming from the top of the Labrinyth about a 1/3 of the way down, some fooker had put a bit of 4x3 (ish) x 2 metres across the trail at about head height on a corner with a jump, my mate in front, hitting it hard, smashing his helmet.. The plank was sent into the air coming down onto my helmet and jamming itself into my bars forcing me to leave the trail and over the bars i go.. lucky I came off ok, but I am shocked that someone had put that there.. surely it must have been another biker???

Stoopid ass!!!

And when we get to the bottom, two guys we were with stopped at a crash with a badly injured guy who needed an Ambulance.

The paramedics turned up and we gave them details of location and the guy's sustained injuries!...

Not a good day really!.. well the rest of the ride was good though!

Report it to the Ranger or any other authority there. I'd be tempted to even report it to the police, or at least if they are uninterested. The paramedics will note the details, but they can't do anything about it other than treat the injuries.

It sounds like something deliberate and with the potential to kill someone and this should be dealt with, as it could happen again.

I very much doubt it was put there bike another biker, unless some of the kids are trying some idiotic jump thing. I know some of the kids there can be complete prats, but seems odd to put something at head height. Can't see what they'd be trying to achieve.

Possibly a walker and if so they are utter idiots, but I've not known Swinley to be a place where the walkers are that uptight about bikers (who are all equally sanctioned to use the place).

Could be some other reason, like kids threw it in there for no good reason. Slight chance some high wind blew it there, but seems very unlikely.

I was there but fortunately haven't discovered the Labyrinth yet so just did Seagull a couple of times...

Crazy stuff. Explains why the ranger was out and about in the afternoon.

I saw that on Sunday, thought it looked offical as I went by to stop people getting such big air on the table tops but I guess not.

Cannot believe that was official in any shape or form.
