Cassette and chain from Ebay - yes or no?

Hi! I'm replacing the drivetrain on my On One - it's tired and suffers more and more from chain suck, etc.
I will get a new Sh Deore chainset, but cassettes and chains, almost new, seem pretty good on Ebay.
Worth it? Or should I just stick with new ones and no risk of wear?

Personally, I wouldn't bother with "nearly new" cassettes or chains.
One person's definition of "nearly new" might be anothe rman's "completely and utterly FUBAR"

Seconded, although I do use a local bike breaker for spares as I can see before I buy, I've never found him less than totally honest!

I think I know who you may be talking about, as it happens... but it's all ebay stock anyhow
