Adjustable Stems
To get myself lower on the aero bars I'm going to get an adjustable stem, but if I currently have a 10cm standard stem, does the adjustable stem want to be 10cm or a longer one as I presume when it's lowered it'll actually end up shorter (less reach) due to the tilt no?

Angling the stem down will actually make the reach longer but as your body will also be lower it does not make much difference. You need to look at the 'when flipped' on Nap's calculator.
I can fully recomend this stem. I have one on my TT bike and it is as solid as a non adjustable one but easy to fine tune with the 3 shims.
