this looks like an April fools joke, but seeing as it's May I guess it's for real:

That would be awesome.

Brilliant! If they end in Hull they can over night to Zebrugge.

(Note to self: remember to keep whippet on lead.)

It's true. Was on the main tv news today and apparently months of talks have already been had. Whether an agreement is made is another matter.

We have some great terrain so could be a great prologue (unlike the Irish prologue we flew over to see in 98, the year of the drug bust).

I'm sure Yorkshire would do them proud.

    Fabulous!

My submission for the route: Harrogate, Swaledale, over Buttertubs Pass, Fleet Moss, and down Wharfedale. Could also do this route from York where there are still plenty of hotels. Mind you, the pros would probably consider that a flat course!

Nah, they will get a bit wet int Hull.
Better they finish in Anlaby Road in Kingston.

Just look at our sportive routes in the area, I'd love to see the pros do The Rydale Rumble or the Etape de Dales,

Start in Yorkshire, send them into Lancashire. Out of the dark, into the light, etc.

They've already named some towns and cities inc Scarborough and York so North Yorks and York city seem certain to be included.

Interesting there's not much on't tintertweb about details, makes me think the press release to the local BBC news in Yorkshire may have been prematurely detailed.

Unfortunately Sheffield was also mentioned. I really don't think Saarf Yorks needs to be brought into the equasion, esp as scabby Scarborough will be shown to Europe bare in its nickers.

    Oi, watch it. :)

Unfortunately, all the best roads around these parts are just over the border in Derbyshire.

+1 to earlier comments about a York prologue.

    Oi!!!

What's wrong with Sheffield? Surrounded by some of the most beuatiful countryside in the country (and Rotherham), the city centre is having a revamp and most importantly its full of hills :)

This is all on the back of the successful prologue in Rotherham.
