Suspiciously cheap Orbea Orca - Norwich (Gumtree)

While browsing for a bike for the missus, saw this one

£550 for a pimped out TT bike - the wheels alone would sell for more than that. If it's legit, I'm buying it!

    Pfff...
    MY SON GOT THIS BIKE DID SOME TRAINING AND 1 TT ON IT THEN TURNED PRO AND NEVER USED IT AGAIN.
    I HAVE ONE TOO AND IT'S THE BEST TT BIKE I HAVE EVER RIDDEN.

    Bullsh!t, if that's not stolen I'll eat my hat. But then again, it's a bit of a gamble trying to shift something that unique on Gumtree if the owner's still looking for it...

    It's not stolen, but the advert is a copy from ebay usa. Probably some sort of money forwarding scam.

    Ahh, good work Chupty! Interesting - something on that level never crossed my mind. Just goes to prove the old adage about things that look too good to be true.

    Hiya.
    I fully expect this is a scam but I'm going to pursue it just to see where it goes. Second warning sign ,after the asking price,he says he's "selling it for a friend"
    I had a reply from him today(Sun 12th). He gave me a website to log on to where(he says) he has more bikes for sale.
    I'll keep you posted.
