Hi Guys,
Just received Reverb seatpost from CRC - came in bag, no box, bleed kit or fluid. I had previously seen it advertised(not by CRC) with all these extras and was wondering if I have been short changed or if anyone else has had similar issues? :?

Have you got a link to the exact page you bought it from? May be an OE model... but I think they have short changed you.0

Just checked CRC website and to be fair it does state that no bleed kit included - should have checked more closely - doh!
Hope it doesn't need bleeding.

no bleeding required, it's like the same gas strut in your computer chair. Correct me if I'm wrong tho!0

Possibly but
They are actuated hydraulically by means of a bar mounted lever which connects to the seatpost via a hydraulic hose, if the hose has to be shortened then there's a good chance it will need to be bled.
A bleeding kit is included with the full retail version of the post.0 -

Is the bleed kit for the reverb different from the Avid juicy brake bleed kit?0 -

IIRC the same."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I think he was talking about the remote with the Reverb. The MMX version has no handlebar mount of its own, it attaches directly to the brake mount on Avid XXs.0 -
I tried last night. The bleed port on the post is too close to the saddle bracket for me to get onto the thread. I wasn't aware there were two different kits. Has anyone else had this problem?
Am I gonna have to take a file to the gold adaptor?0 -
See...

The finger handle on the gold adaptor is too close to the thread and prevents me from getting on the seatpost port. :x0 -
I bought my reverb from Germany... http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/k1170/ ... 380mm.html
Retail version, £193 including delivery. Keep an eye on the Euro, you might get it even cheaper.0 -
Anyone know the email address or Tel number to contact rockshox in the UK? I can't seem to buy a bleed kit specifically for the Reverb?0

Fisher are the people you want to contact, they deall with Rock Shox in the UK. Usually very helpful.

If only someone had thought of making something like a seatpost that was actuated by a simpler means, say a gear cable-like arrangement, eh

I bet you were dying to "Crank" that one out...
As much as I like RS products, what were they thinking when designing their upsy-downsy with a hydro activator?0 -
The bleed kit is the same, the only difference between the SRAM XX-only version and the other version is the mounting clamp for the lever-operated 'actuator' - the SRAM one only fits to the XX shifters whereas the non-SRAM one has a bar clamp (and a Matchmaker adapter thing - I think). So the non-SRAM can be mounted on any bar with any shifters and the SRAM XX one needs to be mounted to the specific shifters.
The bleeding of both versions is the same and the bleed kit for both will be the same. The Quest for Singletrack is Endless...0 -
A cable should work fine for the remote, but after seeing one of my riding buddies constantly swearing at his brand new Specialized Command Post with it's 'posessed' remote that would sometimes not operate and then suddently release the seat straight into his conkers - I was quite happy to go with the reverb and it's hydraulic remote. Mine needed no bleeding at all and is as smooth as butter...for now.0

I can't understand what the fuss is about. I've managed to mount my SRAM X9 shfters to the MMX version. Did not even know this until I read this thread. Don't understand why there should be any affect to the brakes? I actually clicked on the product without fully reading the description on the CRC website as I was so happy they had the correct size I wanted. Turns out no problem at all anyway. Not fussed about a bleed kit as I already have one for my brakes.0
