Hayes El Camino upgrade suggestions please

I've just taken delivery of my kona Caldera with reba team dual air for £445 bargain!!
I have already got the urge to upgrade the hayes brakes. Can someone suggest a better disc brake set at a good value, are the XT, SLX etc better???. There are some bargains around at the moment too. I can't afford HOPE otherwise a no brainer me thinks!

Are the Deore disc brakes any good, my budget will probably stretch to XT at the right price or are Hayes or Avid better???0
