dhb clothing (Wiggle)

Hi there

Does anyone have any experience of DHB clothing, the Wiggle own brand?

How reliable is the sizing? I tried one of their jackets in a Medium, thinking that it might fit, and it was hilariously small.

I know from experience that their shoes' sizing can be a little wonky, is it the same with their clothes? Am thinking of getting one of their 'relaxed fit' jerseys to hide my lardy bits.

Thanks in advance.

It's just a hill. Get over it.

I've got a few things, from the sort of mid to slightly higher end of their range- tights, shorts and a jersey. Size wise it's all been pretty much what I'd expected and certainly not out of line with other brands.

Quality wise I'm very happy with it, so I'd say go for it- you can always send it back!

EDIT: I'm a medium on most things, what were you trying on? Some racier cut stuff can appear at first to be too small, even if it might not be. I have a Gore windstopper jacket that's spot on on the bike with tights, off the bike with jeans it looks too small as it's very short in the front. Just saying, don't mean to be patronising or owt!

I don't have any dhb stuff, but their kit always gets praise on here. I'm sure if you search for dhb, you'll find plenty of reviews.

When I treat myself I buy Assos but otherwise I buy dhb - to be honest there is not a huge difference (other than in the price).

I've got a few bits of DHB kit (leg warmers etc) and it's fine & seems well made for the price.

I bought a pair of dhb bib shorts a while back and they were poor, the fit was fine but the front and rear seams came apart within a couple of rides and the shorts wore through on the upper inner thigh in no time at all.

But I played a gamble last week and bought a pair of Aeron race bibshorts, up to now they seem ok(no seams have failed yet) but i found them on the small size and i'm right in the middle of their medium size guide, the padding isn't that good but for the price they a fair short.

Incidentally, the Aeron pros were just reviewed in Cycling Plus and awarded 5/5.

I have the Black/Orange/White Team Wiggle Jersey and Bib set, fits great and is excellent quality for the price, I also have the DHB road shoes which do come up small, but just order 1 size up

Would echo a lot of what's been said on here. Excellent kit at good VFM IMO

Santini size medium fits me great. In contrast Wiggle bib shorts in Medium are baggy!!! My dhb medium shorts would easily fit a 34-36" waist and suit a rider 6'2" or taller. I contacted Wiggle and they confirmed that their shorts sizes are slightly bigger than a traditional euro fit. Not sure about jerseys though.

my first jersey was DHB, good kit, sizing was just right - i always start with an XL when buying and move around if needed, DHB always corresponds to XL for me.

I've quite a few bits and the sizing is accurate.

The last pair of bib tights I bought though from their 2010 winter range were of a lower quality than I expected though. The seams were a bit thick and the fit on the legs not great.

I've used Endura myself for a lot of base-layer, mostly in Large, had to borrow a mate's dhb jersey in medium - it felt like medium. Arms were quite comfy, chest was, er, tight for me.

I'd have no problems in getting dhb kit in Large as it seems quite accurate. Good kit too - well made. My mate's had his for years - since he started mountain biking way back....

I've got a pair of Aeron shorts in XS and they fit great (Im 5'9 and very skinny with the exception of my legs!) I recently bought a mavic jersey in xs in a an extra slim race cut which I thought might be too small and its turned out to be my favorite so far

Its great kit for the money and I see a lot of it on my local club runs. Is nice that they cater for the anorexic types like me

I've a couple of items, picked a size based on the size guide provided, fitted well. But then I'm not carrying any extra pounds.

I've found cycle clothing in general small. I had to get XXL bib tights, yet I consider myself a medium in general clothing. But I am fairly new to it.

I've got their road shoes and bibshorts. Im a size 10 so ordered size 45 (as the chart suggests on their site, in reality i think 45 is equivalent to 11) and they fit fine. The bibshorts are a great fit too, ordered the small, despite the fact im 5ft 7 and the stated rider height for small is 5ft 9 the waist and chest measurements were more in keeping with build than the XS, anywho they fit great! Quality is good, had them about 2 months and used them continously and they're fine so far.

OK, thanks all, am going to go with their size guide and try a large for my 42" chest/36" waist and 16" neck. Yes I'm large, despite being 5'9"! Why do you think I ride?

And yes, those sizes are accurate...thanks for all the "you may be fatter than you think" comments

BTW - the shoes - tried a 44 (R1) for my size 9 feet as suggested, and they were too tight at the toes, e-mailed Wiggle and they just said "try next size up". Well, that's all very well but it costs £5 to mail them back to Wiggle if they don't fit...

It's just a hill. Get over it.

Decided not to risk it and get some Spesh shoes and an Altura jersey from LBS near work - that way I could check that both fit!!!
