Why won’t my cassette M770 9 speed fit onto my wheel when I have taken a 9speed cassette off.
Is it because the plastic protector on the inside can affect refitting some cassettes?

    In what way is it not fitting? Not going on at all? Not going the whole way down the freehub body?

    If your rear mech is set up correctly you can ditch the horrible plastic protector.

    The palstic thing shouldn't interfere with the casette, which should just slide on. Why/how is it not fitting?

    nope.

    just make sure you are aligning the small spline correctly.
