hi guys,

anyone seen any of these about or even better, anyone own / ridden one? I'm thinking of upgrading from my anthem x3, as i fancy a bit more travel and these look sweet!

All the reviews seem to be of the nerve xc! The spec looks very good, but is it worth looking at the 7.0 for the Fox forks?

Or should i be looking elsewhere for similar money?

thanks,
Canyon AM 6.0

The 6.0 is in the middle  It gets the larger volume shock, fox forks and SRAM drivetrain, though the last bit is personal.

doh! meant to quote the 6.0, not the 7.0 - much bigger uplift in price!

But is the extra equipment worth the extra cost? I'm figuring i'll notice a massive difference just based on travel and geometry vs my anthem - will the additional kit make that much more difference?

hi mate, yep all mountain, i sort of read it as meaning "a bit more hardcore than xc, but not as insane as downhill people"....

    but open to correction......?

I'm a tart but I think the extra money's worth it not only for the spec but the colour too

well, it's more hardcore than trail riding. I think of it as trail riding but with some proper DH thrown in. So basically a mash up of everything. An AM bike should be able to descend at serious pace but then be able to climb back up.

    !!!!!

didn't see the different colours for different specs!

Is bright green worth the extra 300 euros vs bright orange....

for me it, plus the spec of course. You can put the prices in GBR if you change the language/ currency thingy at the top.

predictably, the 8.0 in green is best colour, but soooooo much more cash.

anyway - has anyone ridden one of the damn things?!?

Got an AM 8 last week, rode it at the weekend on a shakedown ride, seemed good to me and everything worked. Going to tweak the tyre pressures a bit, don't think I need 35psi with such high volume tyres plus probably going to play with the sag.

I've got a Nerve XC7 which looks like the same frame to me anyway (different rear rocker arm) but there are a few guys on here with the AM's have a look at these

I was riding an upgraded 2008 Marin Riftzone. Difficult to compare them at the moment until I ride it more especially when its got a reverb post, talas fork, propedal, front axle, all of which my Marin hasn't got and really make a difference. BTW, if I wanted that level spec on a mainstream bike I would have paid another £1K at least!

Interestingly the Canyon Nerve XC 7 came top in the £1300-£1600 full suss test in this month's WMB, thats 3 wins in 3 tests I think.
