Loss of tyre pressure - normal or a slow puncture ?

I always top up the air in my tyres before going out (which is every other day more or less) and have noticed that the back tyre has dropped from 100psi to around 80psi - is this a normal thing or do I have a slow puncture ?
I guess I could put on a new inner-tube and find out myself but wondered if anyone had any answers ....

over a day probably a puncture, over a longer period, perfectly normal. it's all to do with temp pressure changes and osmosis

I probably lose 10psi over a week, but it varies

Slow puncture probably. My tyres stay at 100 psi for a few weeks at least. It could be when you pull off the inflater you lose some air without you really noticing it.

I used to buy the really cheap inners in bulk 20 at a time thru my Lbs.

I get a fair few punctures due to flint in my area working its way through puncture protection on a longer ride.

But recently decided to switch to continental inners and Gatorskins hardshell tyres all on a friends recommendation.

Excellent decision for training rides and commuting continentals stay at around 110psi for ages, unlike the cheaper tubes.

The puncture protection is better on Gators too, just reduced my right arm in size from as big as my leg to ......

Price and Quality does pay off sometimes

It could also be the valve. I've had this effect with brand new tubes where it was obviously not a puncture. You might want to try loosening the valve, then tightening up again taking care to make sure there's no misalignment.
