gtd.

Do I have to remove the cassette, rotor, free hub ect or can I just tap it out from the drive side then refit the 9mm kit? its got a 10mm bolt thru axle atm.

would have been easier just to use a 10mm axle.
watched the Hope vid?

Why are you changing it for 9mm? Thought they were for the front anyway0

Thanks
The hub has the 10mm thru axle spacers and spindle fitted but I have no 10 mm axle to fit it, tried a nutted axle but it must be 9mm as its loose, Have a 9mm qr conversion kit.
Had seen the vid was just wondering if I had to fully strip it or can I just remove the cassette lock ring and the spacers the just tap the axle out so I don't have to remove the free hub body etcMountain: Orange Patriot FR, SubZero & Evo2LE.

nope you have a 10mm Qr kit if it is a rear hub.
the body just pulls of and you need to if you are changing the axle.
it depends on what you have in your kit. but you should only need to swap over the end adaptors."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

The spare axle I have has a bit in the middle to support the qr skewer but the one fitted ho the hub is 10mm? all the way through.
I guess its for a rear maxle or one of those DT Swiss things? my Patriot FR swing arm has 9mm qr drop outs. I was just after a lazy way of doing it

the Qr does not need any support
you should be able just to fit the 10 Qr ends.
rear drop outs are all 10mm.
front are 9mm (or 3/8" in old money) the standard threaded hub is 10X1mm
so please no more of 9mm on the rear as they are not. your hub may have been 12mm
but even so I would still guess you just need to replace the ends. the axle can stray in the hub."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thanks
Must be 12mm then as I tried an old nutted cup and cone bearing hub axle off a bso back wheel and its loose in it, I thought all qr and cheap axle spindles were 9mm
Hope make 3 spindles for the rear pro 2. one that has supports for the qr skewer in the centre (HUB215) one drilled to 10mm one drilled to 12mm
QR REAR SPINDLE 1 HUB215, 10MM THRU REAR SPINDLE 1 HUB216, 12MM THRU REAR SPINDLE 1 HUB217.
I'll just strip the hubMountain: Orange Patriot FR, SubZero & Evo2LE.

but IF the ID of each "end" is the same and that fits over the axle end there is no need to.
all Hope tend to do is drill out the standard axle for the different types. Hence the failures with a 12mm maxel.
Mmmm if it is a 12mm it would be a good idea to bin it as you dont want it failing as it is too thin on the center bearing."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
