hi i have a problem with a reasonably new disc brake i have put on my front. it is a clarks s2 hydraulic brake with a 203mm sized rotor. At first the rotor was fine, for about 3 weeks, but recently it has started rubbing alot on the pads, not the whole revolution but at a single point every revolution. i have taken off the rotor, tried to straighten it (not that it was warped as i could see it), tried adjusting the position of the brake pads relative to the rotor and yet it still rubs. it is a very loud noise when cycling at speed and is quite annoying as it goes on all of the time whilst cycling.
any help would be much appreciated
thank you

Doesn't need much of a warp to rub, a mm or so.
Have you centred the pads properly?
Presume the wheel is in straight?

the bigger the disc the more likely the rub.

align the calliper and let it bed in again.

  • i have centred the pads and the wheel is definately straight. i have tried aligning the caliper many times, but the rotor rub is always there. i have noticed a tiny indentation on the top of the rotor, right on the edge and not on the sides of the rotor which are pushed by the pads
    thanks
