The Monkey is the more technical, you will find the Dog much less of a challenge.
But that is not to say that it isn't worth riding .

Can you do the Monkey trail without doing Follow-The-Dog? When I went, apart from a small linking section, you couldn't. Are you sure you've not done it already?

To be honest, I`m unsure, I went with a few lads from work who go regular and was told that they are two different trails

FTD was the original, The Monkey was then added later, but it was added as an extension in the middle of FTD. So you can do FTD without doing the Monkey, but not the other way round. Unless they've put some shortcuts in recently.

Do both! about 13 miles at the moment as a section is closed. take around 2 hours. Both have their plusses, I just find travelling up there you may as well do both to make it worth your while.

If you've done the Monkey then you've done practically all of of FTD, apart from a small linking section.
