seizing bearings

Hi all
I ve come into a bit of extra cash and have been upgrading/repairing some stuff. I ve noticed that many of the hope bearings have corroded and seized onto the bits they re attached to.. for example I couldn't get the freehub off, could nt get the 9mm adapters off the front without pulling the bearings out if the wheel, couldn't get the lower headset bearing off the seat tube...
I guess this says more about my cleaning regime but is there something I should be doing differently such as putting grease/anti seize around the edge of the bearings for example. This seems to be happening too often for it just to be "old stuff"
Many thanks
